Celeriac and Garlic Mashed Potato

This is an easy recipe, and a perfect winter warmer. The celery flavour of the celeriac pairs superbly with the garlic and potato.

Ingredients

  • 3 large potatoes
  • 1 large celery root
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 2 tbs butter
  • 2 tsp milk
  • 1/2 tbs salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 tbs chives

Directions

Peel and chop the potatoes, celeriac and garlic. Place them in a saucepan, cover with water and bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and cook just until tender, 15 minutes. Drain; cool slightly.

Mash the vegetables with butter, milk, salt and pepper. Stir in the chives.
