Produces masses of edible flowers with a delicious scent. The blooms are densely are packed, flattened clusters of small flowers and come in a wide array of colours from white to red. The vivid blossoms rise on stiff, erect stems with rosettes of pale green stems.

They are an easy to grow perennial, hardy and perfect for pots. Very much in vogue during the Middle Ages, rents were paid with them and royalty had their portraits painted with them.
